Dear Members of the Philadelphia Orthopedic Society,

It is my great honor and privilege to welcome you to another exciting year with the Philadelphia Orthopedic Society. As President, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this remarkable community of surgeons who are dedicated to education and advancing orthopedic care throughout our region. I would like to take a moment to thank Dr. Surena Namdari for his service as our president this past year, leading this historic organization through another tremendous year of education, collaboration, and mentorship. It has been an honor to work with him for close to a decade on the board of our society. I have big shoes to fill this year!

Our Society has long been a forum for professional collaboration, lifelong learning, and mentorship. I want to congratulate Dr. Daniel Davis on an exception educational program last year from thought leaders around our country. This year, Dr. Theresa Pazionis, has put together another outstanding educational program from world renown researchers, lecturers, and surgeons from across the country. Our academic year will commence with Dr. Andrew Hecht, Chief of Spine Surgery at Mount Sinai, who will speak about “The Athlete’s Spine: Evaluation, Treatment, and Return to Play.” I hope to see you there.

I would like to extend a special welcome to our new members, especially our new intern residents. We are delighted to have you join our community and look forward to your contributions. To our longstanding members, thank you for your continued dedication and support, which have helped make the Philadelphia Orthopedic Society a vibrant and respected organization. 

I am excited about what we will learn together in the coming year and look forward to connecting with many of you at our upcoming events.
